Names :

Distribution:

South-Central Brazil to the border of Bolivia and Paraguay

Description:

Length: 100 cm
Plumage completely cobalt-blue. Periophthalmic ring and band around the lower mandible yellow.
Bill black
Legs dark grey
Iris black

Habitat:

Riverside areas of Savannah-forest countries

Nutrition:

Fruits and nuts especially of palmtrees.

Breeding:

Season may last from December to March, incubation time is about 29-30 days.

Brazil: Vulnerable/rare
Paraguay: Vulnerable/rare

This surely is the "King" of all parrotlike birds. Because of its rarity in the wild only captive bred birds should come into trade. For those who legally own Hyancithines and have the place, time and patience to rear them, here's an abstract of
