Distribution:
Central Bolivia
Description:
- Length: 75 cm
- Plumage: Forehead, crown, neck, wings and tail light
greenish-blue.
The naked face is striped with dark greenish-blue feather lines. Throat same color as neck. Breast and body yellow. The yellow separates the blue from
throat and neck in some birds.
Underparts of wings yellow. Underparts of tail feathers
orange.

Warm swampy lowlands to savannah grasslands

Add. Notes:
From it's blue and yellow appearance this macaw can easily be mistaken as
A. ararauna - the Blue
and gold Macaw. Until the early 70ties of this century they were not really
known and always estimated as a variety of the A. ararauna.
First successful breeding in captivity was in 1984 in Loro Parque, Tenerife.
