Description:
Length: 48 cm
Plumage general green. Naked face yellowish. Forehead bluish turning green to
the neck. Breast bluish green, feathers are edged with yellowish green.
Lower belly with a maroon spot. Flight feathers blue. Small reddish
border at the "socks".

Legs dark grey
Iris brown
Habitat:
Tropical lowland rainforest. Birds on Trinidad also occure in the
highland regions of the Northern Range.
Nutrition:
Highly specialized on fruits of Buriti palmtrees. Birds on Trinidad feed on
Mauritia Palm fruits.
Breeding:
Season is in early summer.

Add. Notes:
Though this macaw is generally common in it's range, there is not many
information about the bird in the wild. Also because of it's high
specialization in nutrition and climatic environment these macaws are very rare
in aviculture.
