Distribution:

Bolivia, in SE-Cochabamba and SW-Santa Cruz(?)

Description:

Habitat:

Arid savannah and cactus lands between 1300 and 2200m

Nutrition:

Fruits, seeds and berries, and also cactus fruits

Breeding:

Seasons starts in October with the beginning of the rains.

IUCN Red List Status (1994):

Bolivia : vulnerable

Add. Notes:

In 1983 (Hoppe) there were less than 3000 birds reported in the wild. Due to massive catching for the trade, it's specialized environment and small habitat this species is on decline.
