Distribution:
A.s. severa: From N-Venezuela east to French Guyana and Brazil, regions
NW-Mato Grosso, N-Goias and NW-Bahia
A.s. castaneifrons: E-Panama; Columbia along Atrato and Caribbean coast and
east of the Andes south to E-Peru, N-Bolivia, W-Venezuela to NW-Mato Grosso
in Brazil.
Description:
Length: 46 cm (A.s. castaneifrons slightly larger)
Plumage general green. Forehead black (more brownish in castaneifrons).
Naked white face striped with narrow lines of black feathers. Carpal edge
red. Outer parts of the large flight feathers blue. Tailfeathers reddish
brown, green at the base. "Socks" with a red border to the feet.

Iris brownish red
Habitat:
Tropical rainforests along the riversides.
Nutrition:
Palmfruits, nuts and berries from the treetops.
Breeding:
In the southern parts of the distribution the breeding season starts around
November and later in the northern parts. Clutch consists of up to 5 eggs.
Incubation time lasts 26 to 28 days. The young fledge after 70 days.
