Macaw Compendium

Aratingidae / Aratinginae

Genus Diopsittaca:

Genus Diopsittaca is closely related to Ara which contains most of the popular Macaws. But there are also characteristics which show that the Hahn's Macaw may be an intermediate to the conures. In some other taxonomic systems however this bird is filed under Ara.
